USS Ticonderoga Update
This is a self extracting patch that will automatically update
the files in your Tico subdirectory.
This update adds the following enhancements:
1. Gravis Ultra Sound Sound Card Support
2. Pro Audio Spectrum Sound Card Support
3. Ensonic Sound Card Support
4. Weapons on board now display in a number format.
To use this update:
1. Copy the file PATCHTIC.EXE to the Tico directory on your hard drive.
(example: Copy A:\PATCHTIC.EXE C:\Tico <hit enter> where A: is
the location of the patch disk and C:\Tico is the subdirectory where
USS Ticonderoga is installed).
2. At the Tico dos prompt (C:\Tico>) type PATCHTIC <hit enter>.
3. If will self extract the following files:
PATCHTIC.RTP 786,843 5-26-95
PATCHTIC.RTD 10,357 5-26-95
PATCH.EXE 46,068 00-00-28
UPDATE.BAT 49 5-26-95
4. To apply the patch and update the files, type "UPDATE" <hit enter>.
5. The update is now adding or rewriting 33 files.
Setting your Sound Card Option:
6. Before executing the Tico program, you need to reset your
sound card option.
7. Type "SETSOUND" <hit enter>.
8. You should now see a violet window that says "Current Sound Configuration"
and a blue window that says "Sound Configuration Options".
9. Under the blue window, choose "Select & configure digital audio driver"
10. The next screen will list the 6 sound card options. They are in order:
1. Creative Labs Sound Blaster or 100% Compatible
2. Creative Labs Sound Blaster Pro or 100% Compatible
3. Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 or AWE32
4. Media Vision Pro Audio Spectrum (this requires that the
MVSOUND.SYS driver is installed.)
5. Gravis Ultrasound
6. ESS Technology ES688 Digital Audio (Ensonic Sound Card)
11. Choose the option that best fits the card you have. If you are unsure
or you do not see your card listed, then choose option #1.
12. Highlight the "Select" option at the bottom of the sound card screen.
Hitting Enter brings up the last screen where you set the address of your
sound card. Choose "Automatic".
